Unique wooden boxes

‘Ovation’ box No.1

Created for an exhibition in Marlborough, this box is the first in an entirely new series using contrasting woods, laminated together and then carved.

By carving through the African Wenge, I revealed the marvellous figure of the English Lacewood that forms the ‘core’ of the box.

The lid and the base of the box are edged in Bog Oak, carbon dated 5,300 years old.

Inside the English Lacewood figure is really dramatic.
